Just got home from teaching my second Yang Yoga class ever. I’m still totally green; my teaching has until now focused on Yin Yoga, stretchy, really meditative yoga. So to teach arm balances and inversions (headstands, handstands, forearm balances) is totally foreign subject material to convey. That being said, those postures are exactly my favorite postures to practice, and I’m pretty decent at them! So it is a total thrill to forge into Yang Yoga teaching.
I’m committed to practicing sequences until the next time I’m lucky enough to get to guide the class. It went well, but I learned a lot about how I’d do things differently.
Oh, and the best thing ever is that my son was there, for his first yoga class ever. I hope that he’ll give Davin a chance next week.
