Bucket List – becoming a Physical Therapy Assistant?

I’m contemplating starting a PTA course next year.  My second favorite job ever was in a PT clinic (working at The Ashram is first).  I was an Aide and even though I had to wash towels as a Ph.D. (in microbiology)it was the most gratifying work because I also got to work with the clients a lot. I loved watching recover from injury/surgery and reclaim their lives.  I think being a PTA would be an excellent counterpart to my yoga teaching.  Flipping between science and yoga doesn’t come easily to me and I think it is time to transition away bench research.  My heart isn’t quite in it anymore and life is awfully short.

I have a bit of interest in clinical trials research as well – so I could get certified and at least stay in research, albeit a far different type!  But being a CRA typically involves travel and I don’t think I would enjoy that very much.  It also sounds pretty sedentary and I like to physically move.

No matter what happens next, I hope it involves a sit stand desk (if I have to interact with computers).  I do like my office set up at IDRI a lot. 🙂  It would also be awfully nice to be able to use my personal laptop while at “the mythical awesome job”, also Universe, in case you are listening.

It looks like our offer on the house is going to be accepted. OMG, things are cruising right along in the direction of ABQ….I think I had better meditate on that.

No time to practice at The Ashram today – so meditation is SUPER important.  Have a great day 🙂
