King Pigeon Pose – Eka Pada Rajakapotasana

Day 10 of #letsgetflexy

I love this pose but Boy the Sanskrit name is a mouthful. King Pigeon is an advanced posture, and one that requires a good warm-up.  It is both a beautiful backbend and a major hip opener.  Stretches the thighs, the spine and groin.  Opens, the chest and shoulders.  I think it is one of the most graceful poses in yoga.

I really enjoyed Yin last night.  16 beautiful souls, many of them I consider friends.  I am so honored to get to lead class, and to witness the transformation before my eyes.  Slept super hard immediately upon my return home.  Yay 🙂

Okay, it is Friday and I’m teaching Power Yoga at 6:15 a.m.  It is only 4:30 and I’m struggling with butterflies. I need to hydrate and meditate. No matter what, I will lead an up-beat class and make sure everyone works hard and feels great afterwards.  I’ve taken more than a 1000 classes at The Ashram, you would think I would be more comfortable guiding it… A normal person, sure, but I struggle with anxiety issues so this is still super scary to do. Super fun and gratifying as well. I’ll try and stop being a ninny. A little Deva meditation is precisely what i need

Blessed Friday All.
