#letsgetflexy – Ustrasana/Camel Pose

Pretty stiff this morning from all the wonderful asana I’ve managed to get in this week.  I sure like this working 30 hours a week thing. It gives me a chance to be at the studio more and for that I am extremely grateful.

Camel Pose is a clearly a backbending posture.  I think it is pretty accessible for most practioneers but you HAVE to warm up fully before backbending unless your spine is hypermobile.  I consider my hypermobility a blessing for backbends. Hypermobility has its own disadvantages of course – I struggle with maintaining strength – it is very easy for me to sink into my joints.  But I’m grateful for my body.  I weigh more right now than I like but overall I am pretty dang blessed with all the cool postures I can assume.  Thanks Universe 🙂
