I really don’t like getting put on the spot. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think most people do. But I get an intense physiological response when being tested under scrutiny and it is more than the average bear’s levels. That is a huge reason as to why I’ve **Needed** yoga to survive the stresses of such experiences. I got used to it in my former profession, to some extent, but it has always been a problem for me
Fast Forward to today – having to set up a faux Ultrasound. The best thing? I got to work with Emily, who is one of my favorites in my cohorts. I actually like everyone in my cohort just fine but there are some sparkly stars that stand out – she falls into the category of people I’m SO GLAD I HAVE MET here in ABQ. LIKE HIGH ON LIST. So working with her made it so much easier. Of course. as luck would have it, we had to perform ultrasound modalities upon each other and we used a computer driven machine that I have limitied experience on. I spent much of my practice time using the other, older, model…. If you know me, you know how well electronics and I co-exist. There were some snafus.
A few things are clear.
I’ve GOT to get over the performance anxiety. But I have to retrain my brain to not fear scrutiny of years past.
My and that ultrasound unit are gonna have to become buds. Heck, so much easier to operate than a TB eletroporator or a Ultracentrifuge. I Just gotta get used to it.
Much studying to do this weekend – but a lot of yoga as well
