Kirkland, I’ve missed you so much

Since I was fairly certain I was going to fail the PTA program this week, I am fairly shocked  that I did not, and now find myself back in my old stomping grounds.  (I almost let The Tweeter get the best of me, I had to cut myself off from following the insanity the past week).  Last externship and then I graduate!!!!  I’m not here for a few days, nope..7 dang weeks!

This is terribly exciting.  And rather overwhelming.  Cuz I’m not here on vacation, nope nope nope.

I have so much to learn and relearn that it’s sort of insane.  For those of you who haven’t thought about it lately, you have somewhere around 640 muscles (debatable, some will say 700-ish) in that beautiful body of yours. Said muscles originate at one point on a given bone, and insert elsewhere on another.  These amazing muscles wouldn’t do a damn thing without the kazillion of nerves that activate them, nor the energy they get form the bazillion blood vessels that nourish them, and of course the myriad of tendons and ligaments that tie you all together.

We are truly miracles.

That being said, I had better know a whole lot about these origins/insertions/innervations/blood supplies by July.  And that’s just starters. Not gonna even start on disease states here.  Co-morbidities.  Pharmaceuticals….

Nope.  Not now. I’ve got Big Red and The Muscle Trail Guide next to the bed, but carrying them to WA was exhausting enough for the day.  Gonna try and hit the hay and get ready to be Yoga Schooled tomorrow.  That should shake up my 11 organ systems quite nicely.  Then, maybe I’ll be able to mentally trace the O/Is of my rectus femoris’s quite readily.  🙂

I'd love to hear what you think :)
