Home. Thank Goodness

I feel I must always reiterate how grateful and happy I am to be at my externship in Gallup.  The PTs and the Pts are the best!  But my crappity, depressing hotel room (albeit quite clean, with a very nice staff and people I’ve met there)  gets a little lonesome.

It’s great to be home.  When I rounded the bend on I-40, and saw the glittering of ABQ, I was quite taken. I wish I’d been here for the supermoon. My favorite picture I’ve come across.  Wow!

So, that’s not the view from my house.  I don’t care, I’m at home, and Dang it feels good.  I’ve managed to drag my stuff inside from Scarlett the Prius and have started to unpack.  But I’m too tired to do much more than I have, yet too wired to be home to fall asleep.

I haven’t taken any yoga photos in days.  Too busy, not really inspired. But I’m home for more than a week, and I’m certain that tomorrow I will be motivated to practice hard and document where I’m at in my practice these days.  (not great, PT has taken over much of my life these days).  But I’ve got OVER A WEEK!  to not just teach, but take some classes.  Be with family.  Sleep in my own bed.

Yay.  I am journaling about my experience, but not at all ready for prime time.

I have to say, before I succumb to my exhaustion, that DONALD TRUMP IS THE WORST IDEA OF A 45TH PRESIDENT THAT I POSSIBLY COULD HAVE IMAGINED.  I don’t want to be political. I really don’t.  But with that Pig headed for office….. I might just have to keep voicing my disgust, even though I don’t want to feed the way I feel about the thought of him being Commander in Chief.

I have tried to convince myself that at least it is a 3-way system… But not convinced that the other 2 are much better.  I do pray we’re not on the brink of Civil WarII/WWIII. Because that is as plausible as the bullshit that is happening around us.

But tomorrow, I will meditate and stop wishing the worst of the worst of the unimaginable of this Pig.  And try to be a loving and tolerant and hopeful and ahimsic yogini that I can be.

This will all be made so much more possible that a morning of yoga at Vivify.  Vibe and Yin.  Best way to kick off my holiday possible!

Starting this week out right!

Just got home from a great class by Derek at Vivify Yoga Studio.  I really like this studio a lot – and being there made me happy thinking about subbing there Saturday.  And I finally met Lisa, one of the owners.  Liked her a lot, not surprised in the least on that 🙂

Catching my breath before cleaning up.  I’m teaching a private class at 11:30, very stoked about that.  Until then I really ought to weed my garden.  And slather love on the sweet Basenjis.  I pretty much raced out the door this morning so I have many morning belly rubs to dole out

Here’s the pictures on my last download.  Yesterday messing around on the porch and this morning taking shot for #yogagivesbackchallenge for today and tomorrow.

Gotta love Friday!

I really enjoyed hanging out with the dogs in the yard this morning.  It was nice and mild – but it is gonna be a hot one again.  I actually enjoy the heat, as long as I can retreat into my A/C house and car.  Currently 72, but it is going to be in the mid 90s.  The Basenjis are bound to be nice and lazy while I clean the messy crib.

I am teaching a private class over the noon hour, errands and hopefully I’ll make it to a yoga class at 5.  I could really use it, I’ve been too busy teaching and taking care of the pups the past two days to actually get on my mat and PRACTICE.  A yoga instructor *has* to practice lest risk teaching get stale.  So even if I can’t make it to class, I will be doing a serious practice in my home studio.  I also have to do my IG challenge shot for #yogagivesback.

Here are a few more pictures from this morning

also yesterday’s shots at Exhale (really fun class, gosh I love teaching there)

On that note, off to water the containers outside. Unlike Seattle, container plants require daily watering.  It is so much drier and hotter….. 🙂  If I could just teleport my kids here…. life would be pretty stellar.

Yoga Fun at Perfit

Hooray!  🙂 I am teaching two classes at Perfit today

9:30-10:30 a.m.  Non-heated Yoga

6-7 p.m. Hot Vinyasa Flow

Please join me for some yoga fun!

Here are a few shots I took yesterday at Perfit

Great Start to Saturday

Just got home from a class at Vivify Yoga

I really liked the vibe there.  Good teachers, pretty studio.  It is also conveniently located, I will definitely be going back there, they offer a variety of classes.  Michelle was great 🙂

So my Saturday has started out right.  It has been raining a lot the past two days and Scarlett the Prius looks likes she’s be off-roading so after I shower I might have to address that. The problem is we live on a dirt (atm mud) road so in may be pointless.  But seriously, she looks NASTY.

I’ll leave it there for now, I need to clean up.  But I was just so happy about my morning class that I had to share, immediatamente.

Hope on this Friday morning…..

I worry a lot.  About anything, everything.  I really credit my yoga practice to a large extent for my ability to function in this crazy world.  Of course having wonderful family and friends helps a lot too 🙂

Today I’m worrying that no one will show up for class.  It is a new time slot, I’ve no idea if there is interest in a 6:15 a.m. class at The Studio Space.  But nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?  So I will go, and if it is just me, so be it…. I will still practice and I always enjoy my practice.  6:15 a.m. is a die-hard time.  I think it is a FABULOUS time to practice – it makes the rest of the day so much more pleasant.  But it does take a lot of effort to drag oneself out of bed, to be true.

I am more confident that people will come to the Sunday Yin class at 4:30 p.m.  What a way to wind down the weekend, gear up for the following week. We’ll be all stretched out by 5:45, with plenty of time to go home, make dinner, etc. and later on sleep like a good baby….. Yin is exceedingly beneficial.

On that note, it is time to meditate and get ready for what the day is going to bring.

Tulips and vase from one of my dearest students (and friend) 🙂

Well, I will be starting to teach Power and Yin Classes at The Studio Space starting this Friday!  I’m really excited about the prospects.  I’m going to make a point of getting to know a lot of ABQ yogis and build these classes asap! 🙂  I’m extremely grateful to be given a chance when I’m so new to the community.  🙂

Here’s few shots from yesterday and today.  The pups were kicked out of the house for the majority of yesterday as we were having a media system put in place.  They were NOT pleased about it, they like to come and go as they please.  But today all is forgotten; unlike humans dogs really don’t hold grudges 🙂

My song of the day. It really made me happy earlier today.  So much so that I got on my mat and started my day out right.

Here’s my favorites for this morning.

I *will* get on my mat again today, probably several times.  I had contemplated going to a class this morning but opted to hang pictures with my dear husband.  I stand by my choice, our house is looking so much more like a home.  I think I will love New Mexico, I am starting to believe in this Land of Enchantment Idea.

Praying for Bruce

This guy named Bruce is supposed to come by this weekend and take away all our moving boxes.  I am cautiously optimistic that this arrangement will work out.  It sure would be incredible – I want to park Scarlett the Prius in the garage so very badly 🙂

Towards this end I’m about to go break said boxes down.  I’ve got a nice sharp box cutter in my Betabrand Wholester.  I wish I could go to a yoga class but I’ve got to be ready for Bruce 🙂

Here’s some shots from my morning practice.  It is absolutely gorgeous out.  Super fun to gaze at the hot air balloons while practicing 🙂

Heading to the gym!

Today is the big day. I am actually going to work out in earnest for the first time in two weeks. I mean, I’ve certainly gotten on my mat for 10 minute or so increments but I haven’t really pushed my limits in any way.  So today it is time to sweat it out!  More on that later.

Here are the morning’s shots.
