I’m teaching a noon yoga class today (Tuesday Dec 1 2020) At MixLife. This will reoccur weekly.
MixLife is a really cool platform offering a huge spectrum of classes. With instructors who have passed MixLife standards. I am glad to begin teaching in conjunction with MixLife. I highly encourage checking them out for a super wide variety of classes. Dance, Photography, Lots of DYI. Poetry, Arts/Crafts, etc. I am excited by the prospects with them.
Mulling over class theme of the day – and how to promote my classes.
Tuesdays 12 noon
Thursdays 5 pm PST (to be posted today)
I have self-diagnosed computer dyslexia. Super embarrassing. I laugh it off, but underneath I am so embarrassed. It is not that I am stupid, and I do my best to figure things out. I experience a GREAT deal of stress that turns my dyslexia button on. I dunno. Things always work out.
I am compelled to send out major shout-outs and love to my anonymous computer angels that have guided me through the years. I love you all so very much. You have earned major karma points. Now I need to manifest another who will help me with a website.
Looking forward to teaching online Yin for Vivify Yoga NM. My Yin is a gentle multi-level class and it is a wonderful way to wind down for a great night’s slumber 🙂
You do not have to be flexible to practice yoga. Just willing to let the process unfold step by step. 🙂
Online is a great way to check out Yoga if you have been interested but intimidated by going to your first class. I get it, I was there once. With a regular practice Yoga is a life-changer. If you have any questions – make a comment and we can correspond.
Vivify should be re-opening in early June in accordance with NM guidelines. I love my personal yoga practice – but I love teaching just as much. I am teaching several on-line classes for Viv in the interim (vivifynm.com). Teaching to a camera is challenging, but it is getting easier.
My furlough as a Physical Therapist Assistant expected to be Mid-August I recognize I am not alone – and also that I have some financial stability that so many others lack. So not trying to complain – simply state my facts.
One of my dreams is to become a remarkable Yoga Instructor specializing in injury prevention and rehabilitation. In addition I want to offer Life-Coaching assistance.
I have extensive experience working with clients of all levels, ages, sizes, and/or based on personalized needs. I am not diagnostic nor prognostic; I do have training in rehabilitation of a myriad of physical injuries using yoga techniques. I want to teach my clients on and off the mat.
Contact me if you are interested in a free 15 min class by end of May 2020. Schedules and pricing pending for private or semi-private classes.
These days are suck a clusterf* huh? Yoga – as always – is my happy place. Especially in GoGos.
I would ordinarily be teaching my beloved classes at Vivify today, but we have been mandated – as all fitness businesses – to close until April 10. I love my classes and my family. I hope our little studio can withstand this storm.
Yoga asana sure is different in GoGos. Here’s my latest installment.
All tissues require stress. You stretch cells in your body to change the factors they produce that will change your body with patience and dedication.
Yin Yoga is one of my favorite ways to do so. I believe it is best to practice yoga in a group setting in addition to a personal practice. Being in a group facilitates friendships, share group energy, gets you away from your own distractions at home. It doesn’t matter whether you are currently flexible or not. My classes are definitely all levels and all ages (early teens to 80 year olds thus far!). The changes I see in the students are far reaching with dedication.
*I think* the most important goal of Yin Yoga is to practice being present and find peace within yourself. Range of motion is huge too, and that will continue to increased with a dedicated practice. I won’t go into the myriad of benefits here.
I teach Yin Yoga at Vivify Hot Yoga in Rio Rancho NM. I would love to be part of your yoga journey. The setting an ambient room with quiet music. I try to keep it light-hearted. There is nothing to fear and much to be gained. Namaste, Theresa
I really enjoyed hanging out with the dogs in the yard this morning. It was nice and mild – but it is gonna be a hot one again. I actually enjoy the heat, as long as I can retreat into my A/C house and car. Currently 72, but it is going to be in the mid 90s. The Basenjis are bound to be nice and lazy while I clean the messy crib.
I am teaching a private class over the noon hour, errands and hopefully I’ll make it to a yoga class at 5. I could really use it, I’ve been too busy teaching and taking care of the pups the past two days to actually get on my mat and PRACTICE. A yoga instructor *has* to practice lest risk teaching get stale. So even if I can’t make it to class, I will be doing a serious practice in my home studio. I also have to do my IG challenge shot for #yogagivesback.
Here are a few more pictures from this morning
also yesterday’s shots at Exhale (really fun class, gosh I love teaching there)
On that note, off to water the containers outside. Unlike Seattle, container plants require daily watering. It is so much drier and hotter….. 🙂 If I could just teleport my kids here…. life would be pretty stellar.
I worry a lot. About anything, everything. I really credit my yoga practice to a large extent for my ability to function in this crazy world. Of course having wonderful family and friends helps a lot too 🙂
Today I’m worrying that no one will show up for class. It is a new time slot, I’ve no idea if there is interest in a 6:15 a.m. class at The Studio Space. But nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? So I will go, and if it is just me, so be it…. I will still practice and I always enjoy my practice. 6:15 a.m. is a die-hard time. I think it is a FABULOUS time to practice – it makes the rest of the day so much more pleasant. But it does take a lot of effort to drag oneself out of bed, to be true.
I am more confident that people will come to the Sunday Yin class at 4:30 p.m. What a way to wind down the weekend, gear up for the following week. We’ll be all stretched out by 5:45, with plenty of time to go home, make dinner, etc. and later on sleep like a good baby….. Yin is exceedingly beneficial.
On that note, it is time to meditate and get ready for what the day is going to bring.
